Name:
Mouse Anglerkin
Gender:
Female
Age:
12
Birthday:
April 5th
Village:
Born and raised in Tale.
Job:
No job as of yet, but right now she's looking for an apprenticeship. So one could say that being a student is her job.
Weapon(s):
None. Mouse is useless in any sort of combat...
Appearance:
Standing at exactly five feet, and looking a little chunky for her age/height, Mouse has slightly tanned skin, dark freckles covering her cheeks and nose, and walks with a slight slouch. Her brown eyes look a little too big for her rounded face, thick eyebrows arched in what looks like constant surprise, and her nose is somewhat flattened, like someone punched her a long time ago and it didn't heal right. She keeps her thick black hair in a braid that reaches mid-back, though a few strands keep escaping, sticking out of the braid, and a few strands of hair fall by the sides of her head. Her hair is coarse with texture that resembles straw, and she wears a thin strip of dull red ribbon weaved into her braid. Just under her left eye is a thin, faded scar from running into a particularly rough-barked tree and sliding against it wrong.
Usually she wears a light brown jumper (which falls to just above the knees) over a darker brown, long-sleeved shirt. Mouse tries to roll her sleeves up to her elbows, pinning them in place however possible, but they keep falling down and hiding her hands. Covering her legs are mud-brown leggings, the knees lighter in color and faded, with various darker spots due to falling around in the dirt a lot and not washing them as well as she should. She wears the standard brown boots that most others do, though the toes are faded and starting to wear thin much like the knees of her leggings.
Personality:
Soft-spoken and on the slow side, Mouse is a quiet, polite, pretty shy girl. Her personality could be compared to that of a turtle, as she also tends to duck her head back a bit and pull up her shoulders when she's nervous, which is actually pretty often. Despite her nervous demeanor and shyness, Mouse actually has very steady, sure hands. It's her legs that betray her, causing her to stumble on occasion as she walks. Also, despite her reluctance to raise her voice very high, and her tendency to avoid eye-contact when people talk to her, Mouse is very curious, frequently asking questions about something and inspecting the objection of her attentions. She almost seems to forget who she is when she comes across something that intrigues her, forgetting her shyness as her voice gets a bit louder and her words faster.
Her voice isn't very loud or strong, so it can come off as a shock when she finds herself too close for comfort to dragons, at which point she lets out an almost ear-piercing scream and runs like hell. Arguably, that's the most and fastest she'll ever move. Problem is, when she runs she seems to get ten times clumsier than normal, tripping over her own two feet/getting them tangled in each other, falling over a snail of all things, or smacking face-first into a tree.
Other:
Mouse's parents were among the many in Tale that were killed, passing on when she was six. Afterwards, Mouse was taken in by her aunt, who (despite what fairytales would have one believe) treated her as her own and was not abusive or cruel. Mouse actually slips on occasion and calls her aunt "Mom."
Also, and very unfortunately for her, Mouse is afraid of dragons. There doesn't seem to be a real reason--they just frighten her. She can handle being near one (but not too closer. The closest Mouse wants to get to one is half a foot), if they don't stare at her too much. Or breathe on her, or make noises in her general direction...She tends to stand with a much stiffer posture when she's near one, body trembling a bit. Whenever it does something to push her past the limit, she lets out a high-pitched scream and just bolts, frequently smacking into things and falling down. She's trying to work on it, but it's proving to be difficult.
(Really, her fear of dragons is much like someone in our world is afraid of dogs.)
