So messy. Skylar kept trying to read her mother's recipe for dinner that night. Her mother's handwriting was very nice, but in the Runes and with added swirls and girliness to it, it was so hard for her to read. As if it wasn't enough to add to her reading difficulty.
She kept trying to read as she had the ingredients in a bowl, a more sweet kind of dinner, ground cinnamon, apples and honey were being ground to dust and a hard liquid that was beginning to get thick and messy along Skylar's fingers. Skylar had no idea what went on through her mother's mind when she read what all this sweetness was about to go on top of.
Fish. Disgusting. Skylar loved the taste of fish, but this particular recipe was for people that didn't like it, the sweetness was to take away the fishy taste and make it appealing enough for Vikings that were picky, so they'd get their proper amount of protein.
The fish fillet (Or just lazily cut in half) was sizzling over the fire as Skylar then had her arms wrapped in a big, thick piece of leather so she wouldn't burn her hands on the skillet, making sure it was gutted, saving the last bits for Tier, who was waiting outside for the Vikings to come inside and eat. He smelled the air happily, noticing Skylar's type of cooking. He heard the squishy sound of fish guts getting saved for him, and he gave a small flick of his tail, happy that Skylar still thought of him to this day while she made food.
